Firma Frontier establishes Firma’s systems in living places. It is the Domain where infrastructure, protocols, formation, capital, communities and outside builders meet reality — the part of the Order responsible for forming places where new systems can be built, lived with, tested and proven.
Working status: everything here is PROPOSED unless already operating at ATX. Firma Frontier is not merely deployment, real estate, community development or research.
Establish living places where people can build, test and embody new forms of sovereign life under real conditions.
THE FRONTIER PURPOSEFirma Frontier advances the Order’s encompassing purpose — building a new operating system for humanity. Other Domains develop particular parts of that operating system. Firma Frontier brings those parts together in actual places, with real people, resources, constraints and consequences.
Identify places suitable for Frontier Campuses. Define the local purpose of each. Understand each location’s people, land, resources and jurisdiction. Establish appropriate local stewardship.
Create the conditions for cross-Domain collaboration. Form Swarms around real place-based outcomes. Coordinate field deployments. Invite external builders with clear boundaries. Protect resident participation and consent.
Record evidence from actual use. Share transferable learning with the wider Order. Help communities form legitimate local governance. Support Settlemints without claiming ownership. Ensure experiments produce capability rather than dependency.

Purpose: Establish and steward a network of place-specific Living Labs — supporting the whole campus portfolio without forcing every campus into the same model.
Possible responsibilities
Each campus differs by location, people, resources, jurisdiction, local needs, spiritual and cultural context, the systems being built, and the purpose of the place. A regenerative agriculture campus should not be forced to resemble a sovereign-compute campus. They share an operating method, not an identical program.
Purpose: Establish and steward places where people actually live — households and families, a local economy, and the land they keep.
Possible responsibilities
A Colony is not a campus with residents attached. Its measure is whether life there is good — whether families thrive, the economy holds, and the land is better for their presence.
A Campus is for research, R&D, experiment, learning and showcase. A Colony is for living — families, economies, ecology.
CAMPUS ✕ COLONY · THE DISTINCTIONThe two can share a site, and at ATX they do. They are still different things with different measures of success, and a place should say which it is rather than blurring both. A Settlemint is a third thing again: a living community with its own covenant and local governance, which a Colony may become and a Campus need not.
The Living Lab is the method, not the place. A Living Lab always sits within one of the three — a Campus, a Colony, or a Settlemint. It is how that place builds, tests, and lives with systems under real conditions.
Purpose: Help communities develop the capabilities and legitimate local order required to become Settlemints.
Possible responsibilities
Most future Settlemints may have no organizational place inside Firma Frontier at all. They could use Firma protocols, infrastructure or open systems while remaining independently governed.
Under the restraint rule this becomes a Sphere only when it develops enduring authority, leadership and multiple continuing programs. Until then, a Network States program worked by Swarms is sufficient.

ATX is unusual because it is both. A campus might begin as a Living Lab and later help form a Settlemint — but becoming a Settlemint should not be treated as the automatic end state of every campus.
Firma Frontier does not take over the other Domains’ work — it hosts the conditions in which that work can meet. An ATX Swarm might draw from:
Each Domain and Sphere retains its existing authority. The Swarm receives only the authority required for its particular outcome. This avoids vague shared ownership: the Swarm has a clear purpose and accountability while the participating Domains and Spheres keep their protected authority.
NOMOS is Firma’s legal platform. ATX and future campus Living Labs provide real environments in which it is built, tested and refined. NOMOS is the system; the campus is where the system encounters reality. Firma retains ownership; a defined portion may be free and open source; outside participation does not make the whole platform open source.
LABS HOLDS THE SYSTEM ✴ THE CAMPUS SUPPLIES THE CONDITIONS
Saffron Honey is deeply tied to Firma Theosis. If it operates at ATX, Theosis retains its purpose and stewardship; ATX supplies the living environment and a cross-Domain Swarm coordinates the work. It does not become a Frontier project simply because it operates at a Frontier Campus.
PRESENT AT A PLACE ≠ OWNED BY THE PLACE
A campus gives hardware and energy systems ordinary use: local compute, Realm devices, communications, generation, storage, water, field sensing, maintenance, repair. The proof is not that something was installed — the proof is that people can operate, maintain and recover it.

Theosis-led work participates according to its own declared Purpose, Domains and Accountabilities. The campus makes it possible for formation to be lived rather than offered only as curriculum. Frontier provides the place; Theosis retains stewardship over the substance.
THE PLACE IS FRONTIER’S ✴ THE SUBSTANCE IS THEOSIS’
One Frontier Campus might focus primarily on regenerative farming. Its Projects could address soil restoration, rotational grazing, food production, water retention, agroforestry, local processing, energy resilience, biological monitoring, land-based formation, and replicable models for other communities.
Cross-Domain participation might include Frontier for place and partnerships, Photon for energy and pumping, Edge for field devices, Labs for software and measurement, Theosis for formation and stewardship, Capital for deployment resources — and outside farmers and land practitioners for local knowledge. The campus remains distinct because its particular land, people and purpose determine its work.
Avoid describing everyone at a campus as a Firma employee or member. People may hold several distinct relationships at once — and none should be inferred from the others.
Campuses should welcome independent builders, farmers and homesteaders, legal builders and open-source developers, researchers, filmmakers, visiting educators, network-state and startup-city builders, and other communities and Settlemints. They do not become part of Firma merely by participating.
Participation, partnership, employment, membership and endorsement are separate relationships. Default to Role-holder, Steward, builder, contributor and participant — not corporate terms.

Authority moves down. Accountability moves up.
THE ORDER MOTTOWhen authority is delegated to a campus, Sphere, Pod, Swarm or Role, it remains real until formally changed. Broader leadership may change the boundary — but should not reclaim decisions informally whenever disagreement appears.
A campus has not succeeded if it becomes resilient by exporting its costs to neighboring communities, workers, land, water, public infrastructure or the surrounding city.

Every Frontier Campus should be able to answer these nine questions.
A regenerative farming campus might improve soil fertility, watershed health, biodiversity, local food availability, agricultural knowledge and nearby land stewardship.
An urban or technology-focused campus might improve local connectivity, access to tools and compute, legal and entrepreneurial capacity, training and employment pathways, shared workspaces and neighborhood infrastructure.
ATX might contribute through land restoration, resilient infrastructure, formation and practical training, support for local families and ministries, open tools such as the designated public portion of NOMOS, collaboration with Austin-area builders, and systems that neighboring communities can use or reproduce.
The exact contribution changes by place. The obligation does not.
That is the standard. Firma Labs builds systems; Firma Frontier establishes them in living places — and a place should be more alive for our having been there.
